Seeking Canadian visa

THIS is apropos Prof Khalid Hassan Mahmood’s letter ‘Canadian visa’ (Nov 10). Many years ago, I was in the US on a personal trip and had to go to Canada for some reason.

I had no choice but to apply for a Canadian visa on my Pakistani passport from a Canadian consulate in one of the US cities. The Canadian consulate staff where I applied was extremely helpful.

I received the Canadian visa on the same day. I was very much impressed by the speed of their work and faith in me and my passport.

I hope that other countries of the world realise that like any other nation, the majority of our citizens are peaceful and trustworthy.
