PESHAWAR: Provincial chief of Jamiat Ulma-i-Islam-F Maulana Gul Naseeb on Friday accused the federal government of failing to arrest the culprits involved in the suicide attack on Mualana Fazlur Rehman.

Speaking at a press conference after a party meeting here, he alleged that the suicide attack on the Maulana was carried out at the behest of the West.

“The elements wanting to capture resources in the Muslim world are involved in the attack on the JUI chief,” he added.

JUI general secretary Shujaul Mulk and Senator Haji Ghulam Ali were also present on the occasion.

Gul Naseeb said that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar didn’t bother to telephone Fazlur Rehman to condemn the attack.

Replying a question, Gul Naseeb said that his party had no intention to quit the federal government. However, he said that a committee had been formed to devise a future line of action in that regard.

He also criticised the PTI sit-in in Islamabad, saying that the continued protests had badly affected the Pakistan’s economy.
