LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan, while addressing a news conference, said he was an elected chairman and took decisions all consulting all stake-holders.

He said he would soon take a decision against those holding more than one posts in the Board.

The Board of Governors had already given the chairman powers to take decision in this regard.

To a question regarding Najam Sethi’s nomination by Pakistan as ICC’s next president, Shaharyar said the move would help Pakistan cricket’s cause as they would have two representatives at the ICC (he and Sethi).

“Sethi’s diplomatic skills and good articulation shall definitely be our strength,” he maintained.

To a question about Younis Khan’s performance in the Test series against Australia and the way he used to be treated by selectors, Shaharyar said like others he was also receiving public response on the matter.

“Though I can ask questions from the selection committee over inclusion or exclusion of any cricketer, the final decision is taken by them and I do not like to interfere in their job,” he said.

“As I had promised after Younis’ centuries in each innings, the PCB will definitely reward him.

“I have known Younis for a long time. He is an honourable man and to him team and country come first. He does not play cricket for financial rewards,” he said.
