ISLAMABAD: A couple was found murdered in E-11/4 on Wednesday.

According to the police, the incident came to light when relatives of the man reported to the police that he had his wife had been missing since Monday.

“The house was locked from outside and the couple’s mobile phones were switched off,” a police official said.

The police then entered the premises of the house and found all four bedrooms locked. They then broke the locks and found the body of 61-year-old man in a room on the ground floor and that of his wife, 45, in another room on the first floor.

“Hands and legs of the victims were tied with ropes,” police said.

The victims had apparently been strangled while the man had also been hit on the head with a blunt object.

A recently-hired servant was missing along with the couple’s car.

The victim’s dog was found unconscious on the premises, apparently intoxicated.

The motive behind the murders is yet to be ascertained, the police said, adding that there were reports that the couple had married in court in 2011.

Quoting the neighbours, the police said the couple lived isolated lives.

They were last seen by a watchman of a school near the house on Monday at around 3pm.

Their locations were traced from their mobile phones which showed that they were at home at 3pm on Monday afternoon, after which their phones were switched off.
