Canadian visa

Published October 30, 2014

I AND my wife applied for a visitor’s visa for Canada through Gerry’s and our applications were forwarded to the Canadian High Commission on June 26 vide tracking Nos.20140623PKKHTRV07523/524.

It is almost four months but there is no news or update from the Canadian High Commission.

All our reminders were answered by computer-generated emails, and Karachi Gerry’s office seems to be helpless in tracing out our passports.

I am an exporter and required to travel at a short notice. In the absence of my passport, I am facing a lot of difficulties and also bearing huge losses.

One of my clients in Kenya recently wanted me to come there for the finalisation of a surgical goods order worth a million dollars. I had to express my inability to visit them owing to non-availability of my passport.

The Canadian High Commission has no justification for holding my passport for such a long time whereas, according to its policy, a maximum of 45 days are required to provide or reject a visa.

I appeal to the high commission to return our passports. Else, I will have no option except handing over this matter to my lawyer to proceed according to the law and knocking on the door of justice.
