RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force on Friday organised a walk to create awareness of narcotics, with a slogan “say no to drugs” here on Friday.

The ANF awareness walk started from Katchehry Chowk to Ayub Park at 4.30pm.

The walk was part of the awareness campaign, which includes lectures at educational institutions, free medical camps, sports events, musical shows, painting and poster competitions.

People belonging to different walks of life participated in the event.

The participants expressed their resolve and determination to eradicate drugs from society.

Speaking on the occasion the ANF director general, Major General Khawar Hanif, told the participants that the use of narcotics was not only injurious to its users health but affects their families as well.

He sought the cooperation of the family to discourage them from using drugs.

He maintained that ANF was not only keeping a check on drug smuggling, but also actively engaged in awareness as well as treatment of addicts.

Further, the main purpose of awareness campaign is to create a culture of saying “No to Drugs” willingly by society, he said.

Other participants also highlighted the adversities of addiction and its ill-effects on individuals and families.

The venue was decorated by anti-narcotics posters, placards and advertisements.

The occasion concluded with a presentation of souvenirs and gifts to prominent members of the civil society.
