KARACHI: A former Pakistan Peoples Party councillor was shot dead in Kalakot on Friday, the police said.
They added that gunmen attacked 60-year-old Abdul Khaliq when he came out of the Eidgah mosque after offering Fajr prayers.
He sustained critical wounds and was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
The victim was a former PPP councillor in the area and former employee of K-Electric.
The murder appeared to be an outcome of personal enmity, Kalakot SHO Haji Sanaullah said.
He added that the family told the police that they would nominate suspects in an FIR after the burial.
