RAWALPINDI: As many as 35 more dengue patients reached the three government run hospitals in the garrison city on Thursday.
At present, 653 dengue patients are being treated in the allied hospitals.
Among 35 new dengue patients, 15 are admitted to Holy Family Hospital and 10 each to Benazir Bhutto Hospital and district headquarters (DHQ) hospital.
After seeing no decrease in the number of dengue patients, Commissioner Zahid Saeed called a meeting of district health department and asked them to send teams to each and every house in the affected union councils.
During the meeting, the health department presented a report about door-to-door visit of 200 female workers. Mohanpura, Dhoke Ratta, Khyaban-i-Sir Syed and Dhoke Hassu had been declared sensitive.
The commissioner asked the health department and civic bodies to coordinate their visits to each house after every five days. He said a massive awareness campaign would soon be launched.
