RAWALPINDI: Robbers struck at six places in the city and derived citizens of cash and valuables, police said on Thursday.

Mohammad Shafiq, a resident of Kohat, returned from Saudi Arabia along with his family on vacations.

They were going home from the Islamabad airport when four people posing themselves as CIA police officials blocked their vehicle in the jurisdiction of the R.A. Bazaar police.

They ‘officials’ asked him to show his passport and wallet. Mr Shafiq said the men returned his passport but took away his wallet containing Saudi riyals 3,000.

Owais Bashir’s wife and daughter were robbed of four gold rings, one necklace and cash by two motorcycle riders in Sadiqabad.

Raja Azmat Khan lodged a complaint with the Civil Lines police that his wife Tahira Jabeen was leaving a hospital when a couple offered her a lift in their car.

Shortly after covering a few metres, the couple snatched six gold bangles, one pair of earrings and cash from her.

Later, they pushed the woman out of their car and sped away.

Zafar Ali Khan, a resident of Morgah, complained to the police that 49 dry batteries valuing Rs400,000 were stolen from his shop.

Burglars broke into a private office at Westridge and also stole 27 batteries.

Mohammad Iqbal, a resident of Taxila, told the police that four robbers robbed gold ornaments and Rs300,000 in cash from his house.
