CHAKWAL: As many as 1,832 students of Chakwal district will get laptops under the Punjab Chief Minister’s “Youth Initiative” programme on Thursday.

According to officials, a ceremony in this regard will be held at Government Postgraduate College Chakwal where Parliamentary Secretary for Higher Education MPA Mahvish Sultana would be the chief guest.

Deputy Director Colleges Prof Nasir Mehmood Awan visited the college on Tuesday and gave final touches to the arrangements. “Eight collection counters, four for boys and four for girls, have been set up at the college,” he said while talking to Dawn.

He said if a student had obtained 78 per cent or above marks in the Secondary School Certificate Examinat-ion 2013 he/she would be entitled to a laptop. The students will have to submit an affidavit stating that they have not received laptop before.

Besides they would have to submit copies of their academic certificates attested by the head of their colleges.  

“Distribution of free laptops to the deserving students is proving highly constructive for them,” he added.
