LAHORE: Lahore Transport Company’s (LTC’s) board of directors (BoD) decided on Tuesday to regulate the rent-a-car business into its regulation network.

“As it’s regulating city’s public transport, the LTC is bringing the rent-a-car business into its network,” LTC Chairman Khwaja Ahmad Hassan said at the 46th BoD meeting on Tuesday.

He directed the officials to register rent-a-car firms, groups, showrooms, offices and stands.

Punjab Transport Secretary Shaukat Ali, City Traffic Police Officer Tayyub Hafiz Cheema, MPA Ramzan Sadique Bhatti, LTC Chief Executive Officer Khwaja Haider Latif, Chief Financial Officer Mariam Khawar, Chief Operating Officer Omer Pirzada and Chief Technical Officer Badiur Rehman also attended the meeting.

According to officials, the participants were of the opinion that the LTC must ensure fitness of vehicles running on rent. The BoD also decided to get 312 more buses for 15 city routes so that the people could get public transport frequently.
