Two die of Congo fever in Quetta

QUETTA: Two men died in hospitals here on Wednesday of Congo fever.

Both had been admitted to the hospitals last week and doctors had confirmed that they had been afflicted by Congo virus.

Relatives of Tahir Mehmood Rana, 25, who worked at a newspaper, said he was admitted to the Mission hospital after Eid when he started bleeding from nose and mouth. Later, he was shifted to Combined Military Hospital where here died on Wednesday morning.

The other victim, Muha­m­mad Zubair, was also admitted to the Fatima Jinnah Chest Hospital because of bleeding and diagnosed with Congo fever. He worked with a pharmaceutical company.

In August, four people had died of Congo fever in Zhob district.
