DELHI: Pace bowler Jerome Taylor took three wickets as the West Indies restricted India to 263 for seven in the second One-day International at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium here on Saturday.

Taylor, the 30-year-old right-arm bowler, was in the thick of it as early as the second over when he knocked back opener Shikar Dhawan’s off-stump with a good length ball that nipped in a bit to find the gap between bat and pad.

After a period of consolidation by the hosts that saw Virat Kohli (62) and Suresh Raina (62) put on 105 for the fourth wicket, it was Taylor who intervened to break up the partnership as Raina was caught by Kieron Pollard at deep mid-off.

When Ravi Jadeja (6) became Taylor’s third victim in the 46th over runs seemed to have dried up for India, but skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni -- a veteran of 248 ODIs -- had other ideas as he blasted an unbeaten half-century to lift the home side to a competitive total.

Taylor finished with figures of 3-54 from his allotted 10 overs.

In the first ODI of the five-match series held in Kochi last Wednesday, the West Indies after amassing 321-6 had beaten India by a huge margin of 124 runs.
