When Sajida and Razia knocked at the door of Muhammad Azam in Aliabad Union Council No 11 to administer anti-polio drops to the children, Rafia slapped them while her brother-in-law Azam pelted the team with stones. As a result they suffered injuries and were admitted to the DHQ Hospital.

Later, police arrested both the suspects and registered a case against them under sections 506 and 186 of PPC.

EDO (health) Syed Sakhawat has assured the polio workers of protection.

Meanwhile, City Police Officer Waqas Nazeer issued a show-cause notice to Civil Line SHO Inspector Arif Khan and Moharrar/Head-Constable Shahbaz Ahmad for not providing security to the polio team.
