KARACHI: The Sind Government has issued a Press note giving a summary of the events leading to the arrest of Khan Bahadur Khuhro, former revenue minister.

After setting out the dates of the various arrests, the communiqué says, “The Sind Government hope that the above summary of events will convince the public that the investigation into the Allah Bux murder and the arrests out of it have been a single process of law, developing according to the evidence gathered by a careful and untiring investigation. No consideration of position and prestige have been allowed to impede the police investigation, nor will they be allowed to do so”.

The communiqué revealed that an absconder named Mohabbat Behan for whose arrest a reward of Rs. 5,000 have been offered is the leader of the gang responsible for the murder. It also mentioned that the seven persons arrested in Larkana on 16/9 and 17/9 including Wadero Muhammad Nawaz, brother of Khan Bahadur Khuhro, were arrested because their being at liberty was preventing the police from arresting the rest.

[Meanwhile,] the Delhi Police arrested from different places in Delhi province 35 women, who are stated to have no ostensible means of livelihood. (Dawn, Delhi)
