CHAKWAL: Owing to mismanagement on part of Government Degree College for Women Chakwal (GDCWC), scores of students had to face problems in submitting their examination forms to the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Rawalpindi for Intermediate Part II supplementary examinations.

The BISE had announced Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Part II results on September 12 in which 52 per cent students failed.

After the result the BISE also announced supplementary exams schedule and set September 22 as the last date for submission of forms.

But the administration of the women college did not post any notice regarding the arrival of the students result cards. Many students came to know about their result cards a couple of days before the last date to submit forms.

“When we went to the college on Friday (September 19) to get our admission forms attested, the principal asked us to come on Saturday,” a student told Dawn.

On Saturday due to heavy rush of students, many students could not get their admission forms signed during the working hours and they were again asked to come on Monday (September 22) which was the last day for submitting the forms.

The forms could not be delivered to the office of BISE Rawalpindi through courier service and the students’ parents had to go to Rawalpindi to submit the forms by hand or posted them with double fee.

When contacted, the college principal, Prof Munazza Sheikh, while contradicting students’ accusations, said she had deputed two senior faculty members to attest the admission forms.

“I’m busy in the process of appointing CTIs (college teacher internees) which was why I tasked two senior faculty members to attest the forms,” she said.

The students meanwhile claim that only one teacher was there to attest the forms.
