MANSEHRA: Adviser to the prime minister and PML-N leader Engineer Amir Muqam on Sunday claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek had been creating problems for the government to address the challenges facing the nation at the critical juncture of its history.

“The federal government has been focusing all its energies on addressing core issues of rehabilitating displaced persons of Zarb-i-Hazb operation and flash floods, but the so-called champions of democracy are organising sit-ins in such a critical time,” said Mr Muqam while speaking to media men after offering Fateha for the deported soul of Sardar Mohammad Ismail, the elder brother of federal minister for Haj and religious affairs Sardar Mohammad Yousuf.

Mr Muqam, who was a federal minister in the cabinet of former president Gen retired Pervez Musharraf, believed that neither PTI chief Imran Khan nor PAT chairman Tahirul Qadri were sincere with the people and only wanted to topple the government through protests.

He said that the PTI-led provincial government had failed to deliver in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as Chief Minister Pervez Khattak continued to stay in Islamabad. He said that the chief minister’s claim that work had been started on 350 hydropower projects in the province was a pack of lies.

The adviser to the PM also said that the PTI chief Imran Khan had failed to materialise his promise of bringing a uniformed education system and holding local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The PML-N leader said that the provincial government had also failed to deliver on its pledge of providing flour and sugar on subsided prices to the poor.

In response to a query, Mr Muqam claimed that 180 million people of the country were with Nawaz Sharif as Imran and Qadri had lost people’s support due to their illogical and undemocratic demands.

He said that time was not far when internally displaced people would go back to their hometowns with dignity and respect as Pakistan Army had cleared over 90 per cent area from miscreants.

TORGHAR PEOPLE SEEK JOBS: The people of Torghar district have demanded of the government to give them priority in appointments in police and other law enforcement agencies.

Local elders, Mohammad Zahid and Dr Siraj, told reporters said that people of the new district were being denied opportunities of employment in every department.

Mr Zahid said that if the local people were not given chance in the ongoing appointment process of police and FIA, they would be left with no option but to take to the streets to protest against injustice with them.
