ISLAMABAD: Four supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) fainted after inhaling smoke from a generator placed inside a tent on Parade Avenue on Saturday night.

All four were taken to Polyclinic for treatment from where one was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

The rainstorm on Saturday caused problems for sit-in participants as a number of tents were uprooted by the powerful winds and people got drenched in rain.

A police official said the PTI supporters shifted the generator inside the tent to prevent it from getting damaged.

“As a result, Mian Muneer, 52, Noman Muneer, 17, and Habibullah, 24, who were family members and belonged to Saidu Sharif, fainted. The fourth, Manzar Ahmed, from D.G. Khan, also fell unconscious,” he said.

The official said treatment was given to the patients and three belonging to the same family were discharged whereas the fourth, Habibullah, has been shifted to Pims in critical condition.
