‘Umpire’s finger’

Published September 22, 2014

IMRAN Khan has been constantly mentioning the “umpire’s finger” in his speeches. As a cricket enthusiast, I wish to mention that umpires are generally visible on the field and not hidden. Who exactly are these “umpires”? Has the match already been fixed?

At a time when more than two million people are suffering from the disaster of floods, is it intelligent to propagate threat of mutiny? Or are these the words of an opportunist?

Then there is the ever-lasting problem of Karachi which has once again relapsed into violence, while Balochistan’s missing-persons’ case does not receive much attention.

Reports on IDPs as a result of Zarb-i-Azb are almost negligible.

I request all leaders to get rid of their egoes and focus on IDPs and flood-affected people. I also request news channels to focus national problems.
