NAWABSHAH: An armed clash between two groups of rival tribesmen at Nawab Wali Mohammed stop in Qazi Ahmed town along the National Highway left three persons dead on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Haji Azizullah, Gul Sher and Ali Nawaz, all belonging to the Magsi tribe.

Area residents and police said that a group of armed Rahu tribesmen broke into Allah Bukhsh Magsi village and targeted the victims. They drove away after committing the crime, they said.

The bodies were shifted to the Qazi Ahmed Taluka Hospital for a post-mortem examination before being handed over to the heirs.

Relatives of the victims took the body to the nearby section of the National Highway and staged a protest sit-in, blocking the thoroughfare for traffic for some time.

The area police rushed to the scene and persuaded the protesters to clear the road assuring them that the culprits would be arrested as soon as possible.Sources said that an old dispute between the two tribes had claimed several lives over the past four years.
