Two women murdered

LAHORE: Two women were killed in as many incidents in the city on Thursday.

In the first incident, neighbours found Saba Shahzadi, 24, shot dead and her husband Naveed with a bullet injury in his leg in Arain mohalla.

Naveed told them that some gunmen had killed Saba and injured him over resistance.

As neighbours shifted Naveed to Jinnah Hospital, police grilled his family members and came to know that Tanvir also set up the killing and self shooting to escape the murder.

Naveed later fled from the hospital.

Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and registered a case against Naveed and four other family members on the complaint of Saba’s father Muhammad Rafique.

In another incident, a woman with her son slit her daughter’s throat open with a sharp edged weapon in Sanda.

Police said Shahnaz, 20, as soon as came to house from college, her mother Anwaar and brother Maratib Ali killed her. They suspected she had an affair.

Police arrested both suspects and seized the murder weapon.

Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and registered the case on behalf of the state.
