NOWSHERA: Qaumi Watan Party local leaders claimed on Monday that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Pakistan-led provincial government had disappointed the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“The poor performance of the provincial government has forced the residents of KP to rethink their support to PTI,” said QWP district president Waliur Rehman, while addressing a public meeting at Kheshgi. He said that people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had rejected the PTI chief Imran Khan’s call for participating in the protest sit-in at the federal capital.

Mr Rehman said the provincial government had failed to protect rights of its people and now it was in a bid to hide its failure through different pretexts.

Another leader, Engineer Zulfiqar Aziz said that the QWP had a complete programme of Pakhtuns’ development. He alleged that on one hand people were facing price hike, over-billing, loadshedding, law and order situation and joblessness, while on the other irresponsible KP rulers were busy in illegal protest in Islamabad. “The PTI has forgotten all the promises it made with the people during the last general elections,” he maintained.

Mr Aziz claimed that QWP was an ideological party and had been gaining popularity in the country.QWP district general secretary Somad Khan, vice-chairman Daud Khan, chairman Ishtiaq Khattak, Khadim Hussain, Yaseen Khan and Khurshid alias Khan Jee were also in attendance.

On the occasion, local people, including Arshad Khan, Amir Mohammad, Shah Zaman, Ayaz Khattak, Noor Zada, Anwar Ali and Asif along with families and friends announced quitting PTI and ANP, and joined QWP.
