Sonam Kapoor to skip 'Khoobsurat' promotion in Pakistan

Former rock band Entity Paradigm (EP) lead and Humsafar star Fawad Khan will soon be debuting his film career in India with Sonam Kapoor starring romantic-comedy 'Khoobsurat'.

Unfortunately, "prior work commitments will keep actress Sonam Kapoor away from the promotion of her forthcoming film in Pakistan," The Times of India (TOI) reported.

Despite being absent for the film's promotion, Sonam plans on to make her presence felt.

The TOI report quotes Sonam as saying, "I was going to Pakistan [earlier]. But [now] I am recording a message and I am doing as much [interviews with] Pakistani media as I can to promote the film."

During her interview with Indo-Asian News Agency, Sonam said, "I really, really want to go. My forefathers are from Peshawar and my mom's side of the family comes from Karachi. So there is so much of a connection...I am just a second generation Indian."

The ongoing promotion has succeeded in creating just the right amount of curiosity that is required for a successful film before its release. So far, songs, teasers and promos have been equally well received.

Khoobsurat will hit the screens on September 19.
