While the rains have not been as devastating in Islamabad as in other parts of the country, the impact on the dwellers of katchi abadis in the capital city is overwhelming. Since the houses and other infrastructure in the slums are made of low cost material or on the basis of makeshift arrangements, such heavy rains always leave behind rampant damages.
