LARKANA: A group of doctors doing house-job in the Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) held a demonstration outside the office of the medical superintendent on Monday against non-payment of their stipends for the past nine months.

Dr Zaman Malano, Dr Rabil Sindhu and others raised slogans against the MS and threatened to widen their protest if their demand remained unmet.

Meanwhile, a large number of Larkana Municipal Corporation workers took to the streets of the city against non-payment of their salaries for three months.

Led by Rahib Abbasi and Baddar Solangi, they assembled outside the local press club and told the media that their salaries were not being paid despite availability of funds. National Project of Improvement of Watercourses (NPIW) workers also took out a procession from its office in Lahori Mohalla for their regularisation.

Gulzar Suhag, Ashraf Gujrani, Haresh Lal and others speaking to the protesters complained that the Supreme Court order in this regard was not being complied with as the government had reneged on the promise it had made on the floor of the Sindh Assembly in 2013.
