LAHORE: Fancied So Little put up a smashing performance to win the feature event during the day/night Lahore Summer Meeting at the flood-lit Racecourse here on Saturday.

The five-year-old mare, a daughter of Irish sire Chancellor took up the running while entering in to the straight and, from that moment onwards there was no stooping her winning the Tuba Plate Class VI run over 1,000 metres.

The winner clocked one minute 1 4/5 seconds.

Bay filly Miss Freddy kept under pressure to fill the runner-up spot, two-and-a-half length behind the winner. No Way finished third with Awan Prince fourth.

In the supporting event chestnut mare Speedy One was lucky to beat chestnut colt Effective by a neck in a close finish. Royal Dubai and Gee Gee completed the frame.

The Lahore Race Club (LRC) stewards suspended riding boy Khalil Vicky by three lengths along with a fine of Rs20,000 for dangerous riding on bay colt Fist. He was beaten by a neck by chestnut colt Cheamus in fourth race.

Trainer Qaiser and rider M. Hanif excelled each scoring a double. Qaiser saddled Mun Ki Rani and So Little while Hanif rode Cheamus and Speedy One.

Meanwhile, LRC chairman Tariq Aziz told Dawn that the club has planned to stage cup events named after war heroes and recipients of the highest gallantry award, Nishan-e-Haider on next Saturday.
