Effective policing

KARACHI: Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo on Saturday asked all zonal police officers to take measures to ensure systemic and advanced intelligence collection with proactive policing in investigation process for solving cases at police station level.

The AIGP said this while chairing a meeting at the central police office to review law and order situation in the city.

He said police officials and informers deployed for intelligence collection should be given special tasks and take rapid action on receiving intelligence reports.

He said all units should devise a joint strategy for stopping street crime, kidnapping, targeted killing and extortion incidents besides arresting criminals involved in such crimes.

He instructed officials to ensure snap checking of pillion riders in crime affected areas while taking special care of senior citizens, ladies, children and journalists in this regard.
