GHALANAI: Five security personnel were injured in a roadside blast in Baizai tehsil in Mohmand Agency here on Thursday.

Officials said that a party of security personnel, manning Ziarat checkposts in Anargai locality of Baizai tehsil, was going to bring water from a nearby spring when they were hit by an IED blast.

As a result, five personnel were wounded who were taken to a local hospital. However, two of them were airlifted to Peshawar in critcial condition.

The security forces later cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. The forces, meanwhile, defused four IEDs in Anargai and Shamsha areas of Mohmand Agency.
