KARAK: District development advisory committee chairman Gul Sahib Khan Khattak on Thursday claimed drinking water would be supplied to Karak city from Lawagher dam.

“Rs20 million has been allocated for the water project, work on which will be executed very soon,” he said during a function, where keys of two tractors were handed over to the Tehsil Municipal Administration, Karak at the Town Hall here. Khattak said tractors would be used to make municipal services effective and ensure provision of drinking water to the people.

He said 50km road would be built in the district to link remote areas with the district headquarters and that besides roads and streets, pavements would also be made.

The committee chairman said oil and gas royalty won’t be spent on petty projects.

Deputy commissioner Shoaib Jadoon and chief coordination officer Malik Abdul Ghaffar were also present on the occasion.

DEMANDED: The All Headmasters Association, Karak has demanded award of BPS-18 for headmasters and separate cadre for subject specialists. The demand was made during a meeting of the association members here on Thursday.

Headmasters of schools from all over the district showed up in large numbers. Leader of the association Khairullah Hawari told participants that BPS-18 should be given to headmasters.

He said the MMA government had approved BPS-17 for senior English teachers. The leader said keeping headmasters in the same scale was injustice.

He demanded that separate cadre should be given to subject specialists. Hawari said the relevant authorities should take demands of headmasters seriously.
