LAHORE: While Pakistan lost the junior boys team event final to India, the home girls’ performance was pathetic on Thursday at the South Asian Cadet and Junior Table Tennis Championships being held in Islamabad.

Indian outclassed Pakistan 3-0 in the boys team event final. First, India’s Utkarsh Gupta beat Mohammad Rameez 8-11, 16-14, 11-6, 11-6. Then Lalrin Puia confirmed the victory winning the second singles 3-2 after facing some fight from Pakistan’s Salman Virk as the games scores were 10-12, 11-5, 10-12,11-4, 11-2.

Sabhya completed India’s domination as he Abdul Haseeb in the last singles 11-3, 11-8, 11-8.

Earlier, Pakistan boys defeated Sri Lanka 3-1 in the semi-final while India outplayed Nepal 3-0.

The home girls failed to excel as they lost to India 3-0 and to Nepal 3-1.
