ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), in collaboration with International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC), will provide support to 200 families that have been displaced by Indian firing at Charwa sector, Sialkot.

It is pertinent to mention that Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) fired heavy weapons and mortar shells last week, due to which two people, including a woman, were killed and four others injured. A number of families were displaced as a result of firing by Indian troops.

Dr Elahi said the displaced families had been suffering multiple problems.

They will be provided relief items and necessary medical care, he added.

“To respond to any mishap effectively, PRCS will also provide first aid training to the people at district level under its ‘First Aider at Every Home’ programme,” said the society chairman.

He said the PRCS also played a role in the relief activities for floods victims and internally displaced persons.
