KARACHI: Former Pakistan U-19 spinner Shahzaib Ahmed Khan recorded a six-wicket haul as Pakistan CC handed North Shire CC 10-wicket thrashing to reach the semi-finals of the KCCA Zone-VI ‘A’ Division League Cricket Tournament here on Tuesday.

Shahzaib returned magnificent figures of six wickets for only eight runs as North Shire were shot out for a measly 83 in 31.4 overs at the KCCA Stadium. Off-spinner Misbah Khan took 2-29.

Pakistan CC opener Shaharyar Ghani bludgeoned a quickfire 58 to help his side romped home off just 8.2 overs. The left-handed Shaharyar struck four sixes and as many fours. Rizwan Khan scored 24 in the unbroken partnership of 88 with his dominant partner.

Meanwhile, Northern Gymkhana also made the last-four stage with a narrow seven-run victory against National Sports at the RLCA Ground in North Karachi.

Half-centuries from Akhtar Mohammad (59), Azam Khan (55) and Kashmir Khan (51) enabled Northern Gymkhana to pile up 239 all out in 34 overs. Off-spinner Humayun Naeem claimed 6-57 while Saad Zia snared 4-67.

Despite Mohammad Subhan’s 78-run knock, National Sports were dismissed for 232 in 38 overs of their chase.

Zohaib Afridi and Shoaib Rose captured three wickets apiece for 27 and 53 runs, respectively.
