KARACHI: A 35-year-old jeweller was shot dead in a suspected targeted attack in Liaquatabad on Wednesday, the Super Market police said.
They added that Ghufran was travelling in his car when gunmen attacked him near Erum Bakery.
He sustained a single bullet wound in the head and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
“It appeared to be an act of targeted killing,” said Liaquatabad SP Abadit Nisar.
He added that the victim was a jeweller.
Transporter shot dead
A 46-year-old transporter was shot dead in North Nazimabad late Tuesday night, police said.
Qasim Kashif was travelling in his car when suspects indicated him to stop behind the Ali Asghar Shah Stadium. As he drove on, the suspects opened fire on him and fled. He sustained critical wounds and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he died during treatment, the police added.
The victim was involved in the water tanker business, said North Nazimabad SHO Nawaz Gondal. He added that the police were trying to ascertain the motive for murder.
