LONDON: Opener Alex Hales will be given the chance to stake his claim for a World Cup place after being named in England’s 15-man squad to face India in the ODI series, while Stuart Broad has been rested.

Squad:

Alastair Cook (captain), James Anderson, Gary Ballance, Ian Bell, Jos Buttler, Steven Finn, Harry Gurney, Alex Hales, Chris Jordan, Moeen Ali, Eoin Morgan, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, James Tredwell, Chris Woakes.

Schedule:

Aug 25: First ODI (Bristol).

Aug 27: Second ODI (Cardiff).

Aug 30: Third ODI (Trent Bridge).

Sept 2: Fourth ODI (Edgbaston).

Sept 5: Fifth ODI (Headingley).
