TIMERGARA: Transporters and commuters on Friday suffered due to non-availability of fuel at filling stations in different parts of the district.

Talking to journalists they complained that sale of petrol and diesel had been stopped by filling stations.

Commuters complained that due to fuel shortage the transporters had tripled the fare, causing hardships to them.

Several managers of filling stations in Timergara and Talash told Dawn that supply of petrol and diesel was stopped from Taro Jabba Peshawar depot. They said their oil tankers had been standing at the depot since the very first day of Eid.

“It is not the matter of price, but rather the non-supply from the depot has created the shortage,” said a pump manager at Timergara. He said there had been rumors that petrol and diesel were being supplied to areas where army action against militant was going on.

The residents and transporters demanded of the government to rectify the situation.

Meanwhile, the Talash Dushkhel Qaumi Jirga on Friday demanded of the district administration to arrest perpetrators of attack on MPA Bakht Baidar Khan hujra in Adenzai. In a statement, it strongly condemned the attack in which six persons were killed by gunmen in army uniform.
