LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has invited the Muttahida Qaumi Movement to join its ‘revolution march’.
MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi who had called on Dr Qadri at his Model Town residence here on Friday said he would convey the invitation to the party leadership.
“Dr Tahirul Qadri has invited the MQM to join his revolution march. We are also in contact with other parties including the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and we are expecting their support,” PAT Information Secretary Qazi Faiz told Dawn.

He said Dr Qadri would give his call for revolution in a ‘few hours’ and parties agreeing to his 10-point agenda would join it.
Mr Rizvi said the MQM leadership would discuss the matter and take a decision on Dr Qadri’s invitation. He said every party had the right to hold protests. About the government invoking Article 245 he said its effects would be known later.
PML-Q leadership Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi also called on Dr Qadri and discussed the date of the ‘revolution march’. A PAT leader said Dr Qadri’s march call was likely to coincide with the PTI’s Azadi march.
