PESHAWAR: Unidentified terrorists attacked the house of Dr Inamullah at Al-Nimra Town, Chamkani, here on Tuesday. However, no one was injured.

According to an official of Chamkani police station, Dr Inamullah had registered a case two months ago that unknown persons had demanded an extortion of Rs2 million from him.

He said that on Tuesday two armed men riding a motorcycle hurled a hand grenade at his residence. He said that part of the house was damaged in the explosion, but his family remained safe. The police said that an inquiry had been ordered into the case.

Similarly, police claimed to have defused an improvised explosive device planted by unidentified terrorists in agriculture land at Nawi Kallay in the limits of Peshtakhara police station.

An official of cantonment circle, meanwhile, said that two suspected persons allegedly associated with a banned organisation had been taken into custody by law enforcement agencies on University Road. However, they did not disclose their identity.

In another case, a milk seller, Janas Khan, was shot dead by unidentified armed men inside his shop at Chothi Lal Kurti on Tuesday morning.

Sources said that earlier the victim’s father had registered a case at West cantonment police station and nominated three persons in the FIR concerning a matrimonial dispute.
