TIMERGARA: Security forces have claimed to have successfully repulsed a cross-border attack by militants on a checkpost in Lower Dir and killed seven militants.

Officials told journalists here that 70 to 80 militants from Afghanistan had attacked the checkpost between Tarpan and Unkar villages.

Sources said seven attackers were killed and nine injured in an exchange of fire.

Mayar police station SHO Haidar Zaman said security forces suffered no casualty.
