PESHAWAR: The University of Peshawar on Monday organised a function at its guesthouse for students from abroad and restive tribal areas after Eid prayers.

UoP Vice Chancellor Professor Rasul Jan, Islamia College University Vice Chancellor Professor Qibla Ayaz and other senior members of the staff welcomed students.

On the occasion, Dr Rasul Jan said he was committed to better enrollment of foreign students at the university.

He said he along with other members of the staff was among students to share the moment of joy when the latter were away from their families and hometowns.

The vice chancellor said the university had made a foreign students facilitation desk to make the process of their admission smooth.

“These foreign students will show the world the country’s real image once they return home,” he said.

The vice chancellor asked students from the troubled tribal areas to show academic excellence and said it would prove that they’re peace-loving, progressive and wanted a safer world.

It is worth mentioning here that University of Peshawar on every Eid arranges gathering of Muslim foreign students and those hailing from troubled areas to share happy moments of the festival with them.
