LAHORE: The Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) and the Punjab Arts Council (PAC) have announced their programmes being held on Aug 14.
PNCA: The council’s subsidiary -- Shakir Ali Museum -- will exhibit the artwork done in a two-month workshop besides holding a national song concert.
Museum Director Amna Pataudi told Dawn the PNCA would hold an exhibition of cartoons of Pakistan Movement leaders. The sketches were made in the workshop attended by students in June and July.
Ms Pataudi said National College of Arts students would perform in the Aug 14 concert. A music performance by a local music group will also be held.
PAC: Executive Director Chaudhry Asif told Dawn the council would hold a stage play highlighting nationalism as part of Independence Day celebrations.
A traveling exhibition of paintings by Masters will also be held featuring artworks by not only by Master painters but also by artists from different divisions where the PAC has divisional arts councils.
The exhibition, he said, would travel to Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Sahiwal.
The executive director said a musical evening would also be organised where different artistes would perform. These musical evenings would be held in Lahore and at other divisional councils as well.
Lahore Arts Council Executive Director retired Capt Atta Muhammad told Dawn he had given directions to his Deputy Director Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi to hold a concert on national songs. A final decision would be taken on Monday, he added.
