SWABI: A missing ninth grader was found dead in the Gali Kandao mountainous area on Friday.

The family said Mohammad Aqib of Utla village had disappeared from house four days ago under mysterious circumstances.

They said the people had found the boy’s body near a local nullah and that a dagger was used for the killing.

The family said neither they nor the boy had personal enmity towards anyone.

The police said they had registered a case against unidentified killers and began investigation.

However, no arrests were made by night.

WHEAT DISTRIBUTED: The Ummah Welfare Trust, Nowshera, a public welfare organisation, on Friday distributed over 300 bags of wheat flour to the poor people from different regions of the district in Sahagai village.

Project coordinator of the trust Mushtaq Ahmad said flour bags were distributed to the poor to make Eidul Fitr a happy festival for them.

“It is our collective responsibility to help the poor people celebrate the sacred religious festival,” he said.

SPECIAL DUTY: The police have deployed personnel at major bazaars in the district for the safety of visitors during the last days of Ramazan.

A police official said vehicles were not allowed to park by the roadside in bazaars and in front of shopping centres.

He said those violating the restriction were being fined.

The official said security around major bazaars had been tightened, while police had been strictly monitoring the people’s movement as part of measures to prevent acts of terrorism.
