ISLAMABAD: The capital police have made elaborate security arrangements for Youm al-Quds being observed on Friday.

According to sources, 3,500 policemen and Rangers will be deployed at worship places and the entry and exit points of the city.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohammad Ali Nekokara directed all sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs) and station house officers (SHOs) to check every person entering mosques and Imambargahs in their respective jurisdictions, besides patrolling the areas around mosques and imambargahs.

Special contingents of the police and Rangers will provide security to the rallies.

The police officials were also directed to comb hotels, motels, inns and guest houses for terrorists.

All SDPOs and SHOs have been asked to personally supervise the security arrangements and ensure the deployment of police officials or private security guards where needed.
