TAXILA: Residents of Taxila Cantonment will finally get their longstanding demand for a health facility fulfilled as the Cantonment Board of Taxila (CBT) has decided to establish a dispensary on Museum Road.

Sources said a large number of people living in the urban and rural areas of the cantonment, including Bilal Colony, Muslim Colony, Hassan Colony, Haideri Town, Railway Colony, along with Dhoke Wajjan and Bhir Dargahi village, have been deprived of proper health facilities especially mother and child care.

When contacted, Cantonment Executive Officer Syed Zaki Haider Rizvi has confirmed that CBT has planned to set up a modern health centre at an estimated cost of Rs5.05 million during the ongoing fiscal year.

He said the project had been initiated keeping in view the medical and health needs of the civilian population living within the cantonment limits.

He said the medical centre would be established on the main road, which would also help provide a first-aid facility in case of any accident.
