GHALANAI: A man was killed and four others, including two FC men, were injured when two improvised explosive devices planted by unknown miscreants went off in separate incidents in Baizai tehsil here on Wednesday.

Sources said that a bomb targeted a private vehicle taking security officials to Atma Kali area. Vehicle driver named Sazbar Khan was killed on the spot, while two FC personnel were injured, who were shifted to Bahi Daag hospital.

Similarly, the second IED blast occurred at Manzari Cheena Khwar area, hitting a tractor and injuring two brothers, namely Wahid Khan and Farid Khan. The injured were taken to agency headquarters hospital.

Baizai tehsil political tehsildar Mujahid Khan confirmed the incidents, saying that a search operation was launched immediately after the occurrences. However, no one was taken into custody till filling of this report.
