LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named bid committees which will sell media rights for two upcoming international series and the other newly introduced Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The Pakistan team is to play series against New Zealand and Australia at the neutral venues of the UAE this year.
The PCB is also planning to hold its first Super League in the UAE in December 2014-January 2015.
Former ICC president Ehsan Mani is retained as head of the international series bid committee while renowned TV commentator Chishty Mujahid, who is also PCB’s chief executive, is appointed as head of the PSL bid committee.
The committees are still undecided whether they allow local media groups to enter the bid process as they did not have pleasant experience of working with a local media group when they had sold the rights to them for the Sri Lanka series last year.
The bid committee for international media rights consists of the following:
Chairman: Ehsan Mani
Members: Dr Salman Shah, Subhan Ahmad (chief operating officer), Badar M. Khan (chief financial officer), Badar Refaie (marketing director), Ahmad Hosain (legal consultant), Salman Naseer (secretary), M/s Ernst & Young (independent external auditors).
The bid committee for PSL rights comprises the following:
Chairman: Chishty Mujahid.
Members: Dr Salman Shah, Zaheer Abbas, Subhan Ahmad, Badar M. Khan, Badar Refaie, Zaki Rehman (legal consultant), Salman Naseer, M/s. Ernst & Young (independent external auditors).
