Koalas are marsupials mostly found in Australia and South America. They're an endangered species, with rampant urbanisation threatening their habitats across the world.

Koala is surely fluffy, but definitely not French. It is similar to calling a Chaudhry from Gujrat, who has stopped over in Paris for a few days, a French Ambassador.
