LAHORE: The feasibility for setting up of a national safari park in the Salt Range and rehabilitation of Multan Road in Lahore were the six development schemes approved by the Punjab government on Monday with an estimated cost of Rs5.3 billion.
Presided over by Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Irfan Elahi, the third meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party of 2014-15 fiscal year also approved transaction advisory services for the establishment of multi-modal inter-city bus terminals in Lahore (PC-II) with a sum of Rs11.971 million.
The approved development schemes, included the feasibility for the establishment of the national safari park in the Salt Range (PC-II) at a cost of Rs15 million; improvement and rehabilitation of existing Multan Road from Thokar Niaz Baig to Scheme Morr (length 7.70kms Package-II, Phase-I) in Lahore at a cost of Rs2189.320 million.
The other approved schemes were the widening and improvement of a road from Tailwala to Mithra (length 24km) in Bahawalpur district at a cost of Rs299.571 million; the construction of a bridge over River Chenab at Bhowana and approach roads in Chiniot district (length 15.37km) at a cost of Rs2466.659 million and widening, improvement and construction of a road from Gali Jagir to Tehsil Fateh Jang Chakri interchange M-2 (length 23.56km) in Attock and Rawalpindi districts at a cost of Rs334.066 million.
