QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has directed the provincial government to scrutinise the record of civil servants and other government employees to expose those who have got their dates of birth changed on the basis of decrees obtained from different courts.

A single bench comprising Justice Mohammad Hashim Khan Kakar announced the judgment on Wednesday in a suo motu case involving the chairman of the Balochistan Board of Secondary and Intermediate Education.

If a government servant who had got his date of birth changed was still in service, the judge said, action should be taken against him according to laws relating to discipline, which might culminate in his dismissal or retirement.

Besides, surplus amount paid to such government servants on account of salary, perks and emoluments should be recovered from them.
