RAWALPINDI: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday held a meeting with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan at his Faizabad residence, it has been learnt.

The chief minister remained with Chaudhry Nisar for about four hours and discussed with him the political and security situation in the country with reference to the Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s anti -government campaign.

The chief minister arrived here by road from Lahore due to bad weather at about 2pm and later flew back to Lahore at about 6.30pm.

Chaudhry Nisar has continuously been absent from the parliament for the past one month. He even remained off the scene on Monday when the Senate unanimously approved the Protection of Pakistan Bill. The opposition protested over the continuous absence of the interior minister.

Chaudhry Nisar visited the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology two weeks ago where he underwent different medical check-ups.

Tuesday’s was the second such visit of Shahbaz Sharif at the residence of Chaudhry Nisar during the past one month.
