LAHORE: PPP senator and former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association Aitzaz Ahsan has doubted effectiveness of the judicial inquiry being conducted by a Lahore High Court judge into the killings outside Mihajul Quran Secretariat in Model Town.

Many judicial inquiries held in the past failed to produce the required results, he said talking to the media persons at the high court on Thursday.

To a question about dramatic arrival of Dr Tahirul Qadri in Pakistan, he said the killing of innocent workers was highly condemnable but Dr Qadri would return to Canada soon.

Answering another query about the plane episode involving Mr Qadri, Mr Ahsan said technically both the government and Mr Qadri 'hijacked' the plane.

He said the whole episode brought a bad name to the country in the world.

He said the PPP was with army on Waziristan operation. However, he stressed the need for helping the IDPs in order to make the operation a success. He advised the government to expend public money for IDP's rehabilitation instead of wasting it on 'white elephant' of Metro Bus in Islamabad.
